The Energy for Change program promotes the efficient use of energy resources. Established by Canal Futura in partnership with the Ministry of Mines and Energy through Eletrobras, the program aims to raise awareness about efficient energy use.
The program facilitates education through communications with TV programming like “The Life of the Republic” and radio programming such as “Hello João!”, as well as through the development of educational materials, flyers and an educational game. Schools and community groups receive a teaching kit as well as training. Participants share their results through activities like science fairs.
Energy for Change was developed under the National Program for Electric Energy Conservation (PROCEL) as part of the National Energy Plan (PNE) and the National Plan for Energy Efficiency (PNEf), both initiatives of the federal government.
